Nurses who hold a current valid Texas RN license (temporary or permanent) or a current privilege to practice in Texas and have completed an accredited advanced practice registered nursing educational program may apply for initial recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with the Texas Board of Nursing Online.
Licensed Vocational Nurses and Registered Nurses can submit initial applications for licensure by Endorsement to the Texas Board of Nursing online.
Graduate Vocational Nurses and Graduate Nurses can submit initial applications for licensure by Examination to the Texas Board of Nursing Online.

Licensed physicians can now register their medical license with the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners using an online registration service. Eligible licensees will receive a postcard that will alert them to the impending expiration of their Physician's Permit and that they can register online. The licensee can complete their registration application and pay their fee using a major credit card or by automatic bank withdrawal. During this process the licensee will have the opportunity to update or add information to their Physician's Profile as well. Upon successful completion of the registration, a printable receipt will be available. The updated Physician's Permit will be printed and mailed within 10 working days of the completed registration.
